Why do the values on my electronic blood pressure monitor seem wrong?

Why do the values on my electronic blood pressure monitor seem wrong?

For an arm model:
  1. It is impossible to have the same values as for other blood pressure measurements. Indeed, the values can change from one minute to the next, because the blood pressure measurement is not fixed.
  2. Make sure that the cuff size fits your arm. An unsuitable cuff size will result in incorrect measurements.
    1. A cuff that is too small will tend to give a reading that is too high
    2. A cuff that is too large will tend to give a measurement that is too low
Make sure that the indicator is correctly positioned on the artery by the sign on the cuff.

Always take the measurement at rest, while seated, and without any physical effort (preferably in the morning when you wake up, for example).
Did you know : On our Tensonic and Autotensio blood pressure cuffs, there is a size indicator that lets you know if the cuff is adapted to your morphology. There is also a sign to help you position the cuff correctly on the artery.

For a wrist model:

Check that your arm is positioned correctly, so that the monitor is level with your chest. On our Tensonic and Autotensio blood pressure monitors, the storage box allows you to position your arm perfectly.
Always take the measurement at rest, while seated, and without any physical effort (preferably in the morning when you wake up, for example).
