Why do my oximeter readings seem wrong?
You need to check the condition of both sensors
- Clean
- Not damaged
The following circumstances may lead to falsely low readings
- Cold extremities, frostbite;
- Low blood pressure;
- Heart failure;
- Tattoos in front of the finger;
- Nail polish or false nails;
- Supine position ;
- Anemia;
- Sickle cell disease and other haemoglobinopathies.
